In the next few weeks I’ll be teaching a series of 1 day courses at Calumet Drummond St in London aimed at those who are just leaving college, or just starting out as photographer’s assistants. The course will cover:
The assistants job description – including full time assistants, freelancers, digital and studio.
Assistants etiquette and do’s and don’ts.
Useful Knowledge and know how – lots of key skills for use in assisting.
Equipment and studio basics. Covering lots of gear you’ll be seeing in studios, as well as some more obscure but very useful stuff. I want to make this section as practical as possible and have lots of hands on action. Not hands on me, obviously.
Suggestions of what to carry in your own assisting kit.
Advice on how to get assisting work.
Finally, the ever useful basic business stuff to help you set up and run your own business.
The course will take most of the day, and will be an ideal guide for anyone who’s keen to come and work as an assistant down in London, or elsewhere for that matter. It costs £29 and you can book your place here:
The dates are Tuesday 21st June, Wednesday 29th June, Wednesday 6th July, and Friday 15th July. Tell all your friends.
