My courses are like buses, you wait ages for one, and then two come along at once. Hot on the heels of another Parkour course is something new – outdoor adventure and fitness. Taking place on the 8th November, near Tunbridge Wells on the Kent/Sussex border, it features two models I’ve worked with numerous times – Sean and Kate.
The idea behind this course is simple. I want to show you how easy it is to create imagery that’s loaded with a sense of adventure and wildness, yet whilst keeping everything under control, and without having to travel to the Amazon rainforest or above the Arctic Circle. The secret is in combining good talent in front of the camera, careful styling, a versatile location, and then in framing and staging your shots so that they look much “wilder” than they actually are. I’ve blogged before about the notion of a “Microadventure” and this outdoor adventure course is a way of illuminating this process.
We’ll also be looking at how to illustrate fitness in the outdoors. This is something which I’ve spent a significant chunk of my career doing! Both our models are super-fit, and Sean is a Maximuscle ambassador and ex-Royal marine too. They can perform well, not just look good! I want to show how easy it is to create impressive fitness images without a gym or studio.
